Using Fitness to Help Change the Trajectory of a Diabetic Diagnosis
When your doctor tells you that you are pre-diabetic, they will follow up with a number of steps that you should take immediately. Two of the most common recommendations are to make lifestyle changes in relation to the food you eat the amount of execise you get. Mind you there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, there is no single optimal diet nor specific exercise. The “lifestyle change” means that the solution has to be something that you can change in your life.
Paul didn’t want to be pre-diabetic. He came to IQ Fitness to change the trajectory of the path he was on.
“I’ve worked with food my whole life. And I like it. It’s hard work, but your tasting and you always have to try different products. As time went on, I gained more and more weight. I became resigned to the fact that I was just gonna get older and get heavier and more out of shape. As more time went on, my next hurdle was, I was that I was diagnosed as pre diabetic. And I really, I didn’t want to be diabetic. So I thought, well, if you don’t want that, you’ve got to do something about it. And I couldn’t do it on my own. I called Jason and he got right back with me. He interviewed me and told me that it was possible to lose fat, gain muscle, and become a different person.
I’ve lost over 60 pounds and I do not take blood pressure medication anymore. My blood pressure is very normal. And I certainly am not diabetic. So I’ve accomplished a lot of things in a short period of time, and I still have a ways to go and I still want to get there. But at least now I have a way to do it. And it’s with the gym. Here at IQ fit.” ~ Paul
